FRED STONE

Fusiachi Pegasus
Winner of the 2000 Kentucky Derby
"Affectionately called Foo Peg, this Kentucky Derby winner was purchased as a yearling for $4,000,000 by Fusao Sekiguchi. His name is a combination of Fusao, his owner’s name, ichi, number one or the best in Japanese, and Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology. In order to sire more foals, for several seasons he stood at Ashford Stud in Kentucky, and then shuttled to Coolmore in Australia for the southern hemisphere’s breeding season."
